EAF Gunning Mix

EAF Gunning Mix Introduction:
With magnesium based and magnesium-calcium based raw material, proper bonding agent and agglutinant, EAF gunning mix has the advantages of high bonding strength, strong erosion resistance and anti-spalling performance. Hot repair effect is better when the temperature is over 1000℃, adhesion rate is over 85%.

In the production process of electric furnace steelmaking, it is a very common method to improve the service life of electric furnace refractory linings by optimizing gunning repair materials. Generally, the aggregate material in the EAF gunning material is the same as the material of the gunning furnace lining. 

The gunning materials for EAF include magnesia, magnesia dolomite, magnesia chromite, magnesia carbon, magnesia dolomite carbon, etc. in addition, some highly active seawater magnesia is used in the aggregate to promote sintering and improve the density and strength of gunning layer. In order to make gunning materials solidify rapidly and adhere to furnace lining, a small amount of additives are often added to the aggregate.

EAF Gunning Mix Advantages:
During the smelting process, the EAF gunning mix is subjected to the same high temperature and harsh working environment as the repaired furnace lining. Therefore, the EAF gunning material should not only have high fire resistance, corrosion resistance, erosion resistance, spalling resistance, etc., but also the furnace lining has good adhesion.
