Cause of converter tap blocking

(1) After the last tapping, the tap hole is not blocked. During the smelting process, the molten steel and slag enter the tap hole to block the tap hole.

(2) After the slag is poured from the last furnace, the remaining slag in the tapping hole is not completely chiseled, so the tapping hole of the next furnace is blocked.

(3) In general, the new tapping hole is small and long, and the blockage is not in place. In the smelting process, the molten steel and slag are poured into the hole to cause the blockage.

(4) During tapping, the lining bricks and agglomerated slag falling out of the molten pool may enter into the tap hole, which may also cause the tap hole to be blocked.

(5) The slag blocking ball is used to block slag tapping. Before tapping of the next furnace, the slag blocking ball of the previous furnace is not poked open, resulting in blocking of tapping port.
