Sliding water inlet quicksand is a kind of amorphous fire-resistant thermal insulation material in the upper water outlet and the upper double warped plate flow steel hole. When the ladle is restarted, it can make the billows of steel in the ladle roll.
With the development of off-furnace refining technology, quicksand works under more stringent conditions, which mainly refers to the improvement of the ambient temperature of molten steel and the improvement of the time of molten steel staying in the ladle. Excessive calcination under ultra-high pressure is introduced, or molten steel penetrates into the quicksand. Due to the decrease of temperature, the steel water is cold. When the double warped plate is in the open position, the quicksand cannot go down, that is, the pouring cannot be started naturally. In such cases, the operator is forced to use an oxygen pipe to blow up the nozzle and help start pouring. There are most disadvantages of this method in casting, such as threatening the safety of workers, high price of oxygen blowing pipe, increasing cost, high temperature of oxygen blowing, destruction of sliding water mouth, and occurrence of cast nonmetallic inclusions after the molten steel is oxidized. In particular, automatic casting of sliding water mouth is required after maintaining refractory castables (assembling long water mouth) in order to avoid the oxidation of molten steel.
