Application conditions and characteristics of corundum self flowing castable

Corundum material castable is mainly used for the installation of ladle purging plug. Because the use part is ladle bottom, the corundum material castable is mainly scoured by tapping molten steel and blowing oxygen to stir molten steel. During use of ladle, due to intermittent production, the temperature changes greatly, the castable is easy to exfoliate. At the end of pouring, the corundum material castable is subject to the chemical corrosion of ladle slag, so the self flowing castable should have good corrosion resistance. Corundum material castable has good thermal shock stability and strength.

The castables were successfully used in the bottom of a refining ladle with capacity of 80 tons. The service life could match that of well blocks and meet the production requirements.
