VOD refining operation process 2: vacuum oxygen blowing and decarburization

Close the vacuum cover, start the suction pump, and blow argon at the bottom of the bag to stir the molten steel. When the pressure in the furnace is reduced to 20～6.67KPa for oxygen blowing and decarburization, as the carbon-oxygen reaction proceeds, the vacuum pump starts step by step. According to the carbon-oxygen reaction in the furnace (observe the boiling degree caused by CO bubbles), the vacuum the degree of adjustment is in the range of 13.33～1.33KPa. The change of carbon content in steel can be judged according to the degree of vacuum, pumping volume, change of pumped gas composition, etc. It is easy to reduce the end point carbon to below 0.03% under reduced pressure. The end point carbon is usually determined by solid oxygen concentration battery.
