The influence of the basicity of LF slag on desulfurization

With the addition of CaO, the basicity of LF slag gets higher, the sulfur capacity of LF slag increases, desulphurizing capacity goes up. When the basicity of LF slag reaches a certain value, if it continue increasing, CaO content in LF slag gets higher, then the viscosity of slag also gets higher, the sulfer diffusion at slag-steel interface becomes a restrictive link, which makes the dynamics condition of slag desulfurization poor, at this stage, improving slag basicity would lower make desulfurization degree.
