Medium frequency furnace linings are also known as medium frequency furnace charges, medium frequency furnace dry vibration charges, and medium frequency furnace dry ramming charges. They are categorized into acidic, neutral, and alkaline linings. Acidic linings are primarily made of high-purity molten quartz and molten quartz, with composite additives serving as sintering agents. Neutral linings are primarily made of alumina and high-alumina materials, with composite additives serving as sintering agents. Alkaline linings are primarily made of high-purity fused corundum, high-purity fused magnesia, and high-purity spinel, with composite additives serving as sintering agents.
Refractory materials for medium frequency furnaces are categorized by performance into acidic, neutral, and alkaline types. They are also categorized by construction method into dry ramming, wet ramming, castable, and coating materials. Common lining materials primarily consist of quartz sand, with quartz as the primary raw material. High-purity raw materials, a well-balanced raw material ratio, strong resistance to molten iron corrosion, strong resistance to heat and cold, high flexibility, strong impact resistance, a high refraction under load temperature, high high-temperature compressive strength, high high-temperature flexural strength, and good slag resistance make it particularly suitable for batch operation in large-scale medium-frequency induction furnaces.
However, this does not mean that all medium-frequency furnace lining materials can successfully perform under high temperatures. This requires stringent requirements for the materials in many aspects to ensure that process problems are avoided. In the production process, many manufacturers, to save costs, prepare their own raw materials. This can lead to problems such as furnace wear and low furnace life during use, resulting in insufficient production and serious damage to the furnace. This is undesirable.
So, what kind of lining material is qualified and high-quality?
Basic lining: Mainly used for smelting various alloy steels such as high-alloy steel, carbon steel, high-manganese steel, high-chromium steel, tool steel, and stainless steel.
Acidic lining: The working lining of a coreless induction furnace, mainly used for melting and insulating cast iron.
Acidic, neutral, and alkaline furnace linings are widely used in coreless medium frequency furnaces and induction furnaces. As lining materials for medium frequency furnaces, they are used to melt gray cast iron, ductile iron and cast iron alloys, carbon steel, alloy steel, high manganese steel, tool steel, heat-resistant steel and stainless steel, aluminum and its alloys, and copper alloys such as red copper, brass, white copper, and bronze.
