What are the precautions for coil grout construction

1. The induction coil grout of the induction furnace coated with coil groutmust be cleaned of floating ash and paint slag, and cleaned with a wire brush. The ring-shaped refractory bricks must be filled with hard objects and tightened, and the fastening screws of the furnace cover plate must be tightened. The induction coil of the induction furnace is fixed and reinforced (very important).

2. The mixed water should reach the quality of drinking water. The ideal water temperature is between 5-25°C. The amount of water added should be strictly controlled within the range specified in the instruction manual, 15-22 liters/100 kg of material. Can be added at 16 kg/100 kg. Adding too much water can reduce strength, increase setting time and shrinkage, and cause cracks.

3. When mixing induction furnace coil clay, all equipment and tools must be clean, and the mixture must not be mixed on the bare ground. Where there is no mixer, manual mixing can be used and the mixture must be evenly mixed. Mixing materials should be completed within 30 minutes after mixing (ambient temperature is 5-25°C).

4. When painting the coil of the induction furnace, a vertical line should be hung in the center of the furnace to check whether the installation position of the coil is concentric with the furnace.

5. During the coating construction process of the induction furnace coil, attention should be paid to embedding the coating material into the coil turns, and the coating thickness is approximately 6mm. The surface should be smooth and flat. When using a pushing mechanism to remove the old furnace lining, the coating should be made into a smooth and flat inner surface with an inverted cone shape that is large at the top and small at the bottom. The thickness of the undercoat can be 10-12 mm.

6. Minimize the gap or protruding size between the bottom/top turns of the induction furnace coil and the corresponding bottom/upper support structure (such as gate) of the induction furnace. Its purpose is to form a complete smooth cylindrical surface between the coil coating and the support structure at the bottom/upper part of the electric furnace, so that the furnace lining can freely expand and contract on its smooth surface when heated or cooled, thereby preventing the furnace lining from expanding and contracting due to It will crack due to the large stress generated between the above-mentioned protrusions or gaps.

7. After the coating is completed, use a wire brush to roughen the surface of the coating to facilitate drying.

8. The repair layer of new coil coatings or larger coil coatings should at least dry naturally. Small areas also require at least 6 hours of natural drying time.

More details about Coil Grout:

How does an induction coil work?

Induction heaters provide alternating electric current to an electric coil (the induction coil), as a result of which the induction coil becomes the electrical (heat) source that induces a high-frequency alternating electrical current into the workpiece to be heated.

What is coil grout?

Coil grout is a kind of painting material used for fused alumina recommended for application to the inside face of coreless induction furnace coils. Containing a red color is to distinguish the coil grout from the working lining.

What are the advantages of induction heat treatment?

Localized areas can be heat treated

Very short surface heat-up times

Steel can be pre-heat treated to obtain prior core hardness values

Very minimal surface decarburization

Very minimal surface oxidation

Slight deformation (bending); this can occur due to internal residual machining stresses

Straightening can be carried out on a deformed bar/shaft; however, care must be exercised

Increased fatigue strength

Can be incorporated into cell manufacture

Low operating costs.
