Tap Hole Brick Introduction:

Taphole brick is made of high purity fused magnesia and large crystal magnesia, mixed with high purity flake graphite and added with special antioxidant and resin binders,usually shaped by cold isostatic presses. 1 Standards for the use of tapping holes

1.1 It should be ensured that the shape of the tap hole is normal and can meet the requirements of the slag retaining process, and the tap hole should be at an angle of 0° to the horizontal. The tap hole is round.

1.2 The maximum diameter of the tap hole is not allowed to exceed 150 mm, and the shortest is not less than 400 mm. The tapping time is not less than 1 minute and 30 seconds. Otherwise, install a new tapping hole.

2 Maintenance operations of the tapping hole

2.1 When lowering the tap hole, use a reaming machine to remove the remaining bricks and residues in the tap hole. If there is residual steel, it must be blown away with an oxygen pipe.

2.2 Put the prefabricated taphole pipe bricks from the outer opening, and plug the outer joints tightly with external fillers. After the fillers harden, shake the furnace flat, and fill the inner joints with thin Martin sand. The inner mouth should be slightly concave, and the furnace can be lifted after sintering for 5 minutes.

3 Other matters

3.1 Residual steel and slag in the taphole jacket must be removed before taking over.

3.2 Residual steel at the outlet of the tapping hole must be removed after each furnace is tapped.

3.3 During the use of the tapping hole, it is strictly forbidden to pad the tapping hole to ensure that the tapping hole is round.

3.4 If there is a problem in the use of the tap hole, it must be replaced, and the steel pipe is strictly prohibited.

3.5 When the furnace is not making steel, the furnace should be shaken until the furnace mouth faces south (except for repairing the furnace).
