Casting Powder Introduction：
Square billet continuous casting is rather complicated, which involved in steel types,section and casting speed. Casting Mold Powder is designed and produced according to parameter of continuous caster and detailed production situation. Casting powder can prevent reoxidation of molten steel,reduce the heat loss of liquid steel and prevent the premature solidification of liquid steel. Also, Casting Powder will dissolve and absorb inclusions on the surface of molten steel, lubricate the mould and the shell.

Casting Powder can ensure clean and smooth surface of casting block, and also can ensure that there is no shell and flux strip in mold, with even vibration mark and without defects on the surface of casting block.
The mainly function of casting mold powder is protecting molten steel from oxidizing, and our factory made mold powder size is according to your furnace volume and steel grade.
Casting Powder Function:
(1) Prevent heat dissipation;
(2) Isolate the air to prevent oxygen in the air from entering the molten steel, causing secondary oxidation and affecting the quality of the steel;
(3) Absorb and dissolve from molten steel, float inclusions on the interface of steel slag, and purify molten steel;
(4) There is a layer of slag film between the mold wall and the solidified shell to lubricate, reduce the drawing resistance, and prevent the bonding between the solidified shell and the copper plate;
(5) Filling the gap The air gap between the shell and the mold improves the heat transfer of the mold. A good casting powder should be able to give full play to the above five aspects, thereby improving the surface quality of the slab and ensuring the smooth progress of continuous casting.
